I bought some little silicon pads to put inside, but still waiting for them to break in. Hopefully it will be before I scar up my leg. As the other reviewers said, the top of the shoe does rub off the back of your ankle when you first wear them, but that stopped after a couple of wears. First the back of the shoe at the top had sharp edges which rubbed the skin......nail sanding block did the trick. Second, my wife has wider than medium feet.
